Overview
This website is an informational page for Exchange Packet. It has no visitor accounts, forms, advertising, or analytics, and it does not set cookies. Staff sign in to company systems separately, as described under Staff sign-in below. This policy also covers information received when someone emails, calls, or texts Exchange Packet.
Information collected
- Email. When someone emails Exchange Packet, the sender's address and message are received. They are used only to respond and to keep a record of the conversation.
- Phone number and text messages. A phone number is collected only if the sender chooses to provide it, or if the sender calls or texts Exchange Packet. The number and the content of messages are used only to respond about the inquiry and to provide the requested service. See Text messages below.
- Call recording. Calls to and from Exchange Packet may be recorded, for quality, for business records, and to document consent to receive text messages. Callers are told when a call may be recorded. Recordings are used only for those purposes.
- Technical data. As with most websites, standard technical information such as IP address and browser type may be processed by the services that deliver this site, in order to deliver it and protect it from abuse.
Text messages
Exchange Packet may send text (SMS) messages to people who have provided their mobile number or who have texted first. Text messages are used only for customer care: replying to inquiries, scheduling and coordinating service, and sending updates about work in progress. Exchange Packet does not send marketing or promotional text messages.
Consent to receive texts is given in one of these ways:
- The customer texts first. A text message sent to Exchange Packet is consent to receive replies in that conversation.
- The customer provides a mobile number. When a number is provided by phone, in person, by email, or in writing with a request to be contacted about a service or inquiry, Exchange Packet states that the number will be texted and reviews the key terms, either verbally or in writing, with a reference to the Terms of service. The key terms are that texts are for customer care only, that message frequency varies, that message and data rates may apply, and that the customer may reply STOP or HELP. Agreeing to be texted after that is consent.
Any conversation can be ended at any time by replying STOP. Consent is not a condition of purchasing any service. Exchange Packet keeps a record of consent: for consent given by phone, the recorded call; for a customer who texts first, the incoming message, together with the terms presented in reply to it.
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. Information may be shared with the service providers that carry the messages, only as needed to deliver them.
Reply STOP to any text to end further texts. Reply HELP for help, or contact privacy@exchangepacket.com. Message frequency varies with the conversation. Message and data rates may apply. See the Terms of service for more.
